Sunhouse and inner courts.
I thought I'd post few pictures from today and tell you about them...

It's called the Sunhouse - because it's bright yellow! I heard today that it used to be a bakery. Many, many years ago when all the other houses were still made of wood. You know why this one wasn't? Well, incase you haven't heard, wood burns easily. Haha. So of course there was no point to build a bakery out of wood since it was a building that was most likely to burn down.

I spent my entire morning photographing the city - centre and Tammela, mostly. I saw the way window was reflecting from this sign and snapped a picture of it.

I figured out what my theme for the photographing task is. "Tampere falling into decay." I decided to photograph graffitis, walls plastered with cool posters, buildings with paint peeling off... Stuff like that. And I think this McDonald's cup stuffed into fence looked pretty interesting so I chose this one too.

My afternoon was spent in the city, too. I was having an architecture class and we were walking around the neighbourhood near our school - Tammela and Armonkallio. I really liked the houses in Armonkallio. They were built in the end of the 19th century and there was really cute inner courts which reminded me a bit of France, Italy and Spain.

Lightbulb sun.
Horrible day. Rainy, gray, boring. But I'm off to bed now, sleep dept you see. And it's just Tuesday! Fuck, my sleep patterns suck. Hey, that rhymes. Oh what an interesting life I have.

What I shot today.

It's a journey.
They're trying to move our trip for next month... I hope it works out. Anyways, we were walking around the town during our photographing class and I took these photos:

Ash destroyed our wings.
I wanna cry, I've never been on a plane before and this one time when I could have actually flied somewhere... Volcano explosion! One that could last days, weeks, months, years... Which means that we're pretty much screwed. And the trip to Rome, which I've been waiting for these past 6 months, could be cancelled for good. They haven't said anything to us yet but I'm pretty sure they're gonna text soon from the school. Saying: "Sorry that you paid almost 800 euros, we're not getting anywhere. Blame the ash."

Seriously, this ruined my spring. I just want to scream, I've never been anywhere besides Stockholm and Tallinn and was really looking forward to this trip.

EDIT:
I just realised that last fall, winter and this spring has went really badly. When you think about it, there's been so much nature disasters that I can't even remember all of them, Haiti, Chile etc. There's also been so freaking many strikes in Finland. Buses, groceries, stores, guards... And because of this cold winter, trains were really late pretty much always. Not to mention swine flu, the recession... And this volcano-thing, of course.

You are creating all the bubbles at play.

It was crazy at the city today, there's this huge sale at one department store and everyone was carrying their yellow plastic bags. Busses were like 30 minutes late because of the traffic! Well, it's not like it was too cold standing there. Sun was shining and a smell of doughnuts was floating from a booth across the street.

Shock shock!
Why does time go so fast? I mean, it was just like yesterday when I signed up for the trip to Rome. And next week this same time I'll be already packing! But I'll try to stop freaking out for a sec and show you what's been going on lately.

I digged up my sweet bike on Friday - it still works just fine, though being mugged six months ago by few reckless teenagers... Thanks to our neighbour who fixed it.

Our yard looks now like it's fall - because we were too lazy to rake it before winter. Oh well.

These past few days I've been shopping, spending some quality time with friends, reading and baking... Now there's only Swedish test left and some stuff for the art class and Rome trip. I'll be back soon!

Such great heights.

Ah, spring! It's been either raining or sun has been shining. Life has been busy, that's the reason I haven't been posting anything for a while. Now it's Easter which means I don't have school until next Tuesday. I'm just gonna draw my caricature for art class and read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, again. I don't know what I should write here right now so I'm just gonna give you few pictures taken at the icy beach yesterday.
